- "Ettore Majorana" Centre
Many graduates go to the EMSC in order to study new issues arising in many different subjects; the centre takes account of more than 100 subjects.

This Centre, dedicated to Ettore Maiorana (an Italian physician), is located in the ancient pre-medieval town of Erici but there are also 23 international centres. In 1982, Paul A.M. Dirac, Antonino Zichichi and Piotr Kapitza wrote - and more than 10,000 people signed - THE ERICE STATEMENT. It affirms that science is to comprehend and analyse the fundamental laws of nature while technology is to understand how human strength can be used. It is important to learn how to manage technology because everyday choices are moral and not scientific.
The essential choice is to prevent human life from a catastrophic third world war and to pursue peace and not war. This statement refers also to the ICSC- World Laboratory, a non-governmental organization recognized by the United Nations, which was established by The Erice Statement and has the contribution of the Italian Government. This Laboratory promotes science in developing countries through scientific voluntary service.
